My name is Jessica, and I am a mother to a 6 yr old boy on the spectrum. He was dignosed in January of 2005. I look forward to meeting other parents who share my joys and struggles. The Portland Autism Meetup Group is for parents of Autistic children to get together and talk about strategies, difficulties, and experiences. We can learn from each other about what works and what doesn't. Come and join us in sharing our strength and hope for the future.

“My son was diagnosed with Sensory Integrity Disorder a year ago at age 3 years old. It has been very dificult to have him in pre-school, go to church and just socialize in general. I thought it would be nice to find others in our same situation.”

“I am the chair of the 2009 Portland Walk Now for Autism. My son, Jack, was diagnosed when he was 2. How 4.5, he is making extraordinary progress, and I credit it largely to early diagnosis, and incredible access to care due largely to family support.”
