My son was diagnoised with autism at age 3. He is now 16 years old. Parents of teens with autism have diferent needs than parents of younger children with autism. For example, should my son drive a car? What about girls? What does my son do after he graduates from high school? I would like to meet other parents who have teens with autism so we can support each other and our kids.

Good morning,

My name is Kc. i saw your topic and i thought yes this is what i need help with as well. My son will be 13 next year but he is I was wondering how did your son cope with the hormonal changes such as voice changes, noticing of his body muscles, and girls of course. My son has already tracked a girl in his fifth grade class this year. So i hope you rcv'd this reply and would love to be your e-mail pal.

Thanks for the reply. My son is copeing all right with the hormonal changes. The only thing that's really an issue is his acne. He is going to a dermotologist and is very cooperative with the treatment. So far my son has not expressed an interest in girls. He does not socialize well. He really has to get to know you before he opens up and will talk to you. He is in regular high school and is doing well with his grades. He will probably go to a junior college a year from now ( he will be a senior in the fall). I would like to get my son to socialize more. Do you have any suggestions?

Please reply to my email which is wschumann@cox.net

My son is 14 and to get him to bathe is like getting him to donate blood. Any advise?
