Meetings for adults with ADHD 2. Meetings for adults who have a close relationship with an adult who has ADHD 3. Meetings …

Hi there! Its really tough when you have a kiddo diagnosed with Autism or a Special Need of some sort to put yourself out there and do things that parents with NT kids do. Im not pitting folks against each other, the overall experience is just different. We get the stares, the "How could that parent let that child get AWAY with that!" sort of feedback at malls, parks, playgrounds. . .just walking around. I am proposing a group thats only semi organized since many of us live in a life thats ful …

I set this group up because I want to discuss issues and solutions around how diet and nutrition can impact and improve the wellness of children with special needs. Do you know a child with allergies, anxiety, stomachaches, a picky eater, ASD, ADHD, PDD-NOS, quirky etc. It can be challenging to teach children about healthy eating -- especially if the child is very picky and/or resistant to new foods. If you are a parent, a service provider, a grandparent, or a person living with special needs y …

I started this group to provide a place where NT partners/spouses could meet and support each other. The meetings are not intended to be therapy sessions, but more along the lines of supporting each other since many of our friends and family members do not understand our unique relationships with our Aspie spouses/partners. Some of the meet-ups will have particular topics to discuss, some will be fun events to play and afford us a stress-free time and others will be informal with discussions bei …

I am a speech-language pathologist currently working in a private special needs school in New York City. My experience has taught me that the greatest hope we have in helping children and teens with special needs is working together - parents, educators, therapists, siblings, doctors, etc. Though we are all in this together, many often feel isolated. Many do not have enough information on how to navigate the day-to-day as well as the future ahead. Many feel overwhelmed with too much information. …

Let's talk about what autism, learning disabilities, ADHD really is on the inside and not just on the outside. What are the triggers for behavior. The brainmaps for autism show 70% have low level seizure activity which they cannot control. Most nutritional protocols actually make this worse! Talk to an epilepsy expert (1 in 5 in the country) about what really does work for autism; how to understand and handle behavior problems; what are the potential triggers; how to rehabilitate the autistic br …

This is a group for learning more about treating disease and illness - no matter how severe or minor - with food and nutrition. My life has been improved incredibly by making nutritional changes to my diet. As I've learned more and more about nutrition and disease, I've discovered not only how much more there is to learn for me, but also I really wanted to share what I've learned already, and encourage this discussion to happen on a wider basis. And also of course, there are so many resources an …

Thriving and Surviving with IBD. For people who have Chrohn's Disease & Colitis or their family and friends who want to give support. Let's share SCD recipes, diet and/or medication tips, and success stories. And support each other through the hard times.
The goal of this Meetup group is to allow children (11-16 yrs of age) with Aspergers and/or ADHD to meet, and play in a non judgmental, semi supervised environment. Ideally, groups would be kept at small numbers (for the benefit of the child) where parents would rotate hosting events in their home. This is not a parents support group. This is solely an opportunity for children to intermingle with other children who are also dealing with similar social challenges.

Greetings- This is a group primarily to provide opportunities for ASD-PDD kids (and their parents/ caregivers) to interact with peers. My observations and experience is that there are plenty of groups on LI for people to talk about things. This will be a forum for kids to hopefully interact with other kids, and parents/ caregivers can align to create play groups, support networks, idea/ method exchange, etc. The idea for this group came about as I have a 7 y.o. ASD-PDD grandson who lost his Dad, …

My 22 month old was recently diagnosed with PDD NOS, which is on the Autism Spectrum. Its been a whirlwind of emotion, information, scheduling and finally starting ABA therapy. I would like to find parents that are going through the same. I think shared experiences are helpful. I would also LOVE to have a playgroup for my child to participate in with other children and parents that can understand our world. We are looking forward to exploring this new world with other parents and their children.
