Our positive, accepting group exists so that adults on the autism spectrum, usually those with Asperger's Syndrome or Aspies (but not exclusively Aspies), can socialize with others on the spectrum, 18 and up, whether officially diagnosed or self diagnosed. Our meetings are a wonderful, precious respite from having to monitor, edit, and adapt ourselves to suit norms that don't mesh with our natural, autistic tendencies. We have open, free-flowing discussions about many things -- our ideas, experi …

I'm a Active duty Service member and my Son has Autism (PDD-NOS). I decided to form this Meetup group after discovering how hard it was to find services in a new city. This group is for all military service members living with Autism Spectrum Disorders in the San Antonio area. I hope we can provide a support network for each other and share our knowledge of what's in the area, etc. My aim is to organize Meetups for our kids with ASDs, their unaffected siblings and us parents!

www.self-compassion.org The relentless search for high self-esteem has become a virtual religion; and a tyrannical one at that. Our competitive culture tells us we need to be special and above average to feel good about ourselves, but we can’t all be above average at the same time. There is always someone richer, more attractive, or successful than we are. And even when we do manage to feel self-esteem for one golden moment, we can’t hold on to it. Our sense of self-worth bounces around like a …
This group is being formed because there are many adults on the autism spectrum who need a way to find more friends. This group will meet at local aspie-friendly places or schedule outings. The intent is to help folks develop a broader social network. Members should be on the autism spectrum. If an individual needs support, that support person is welcome.

In looking for social interaction for my son in our area, we are hoping to make the acquaintances of fellow Aspergers here in Round Rock. Host Lego get togethers and also invite siblings to come over a play. Summer is coming and this would be a great opportunity to socialize and make our Aspies stronger for society! Hoping to socialize with all ages but my son is 12 so we are hoping to find other kids his age, as well, to hang with over the summer. Also hoping to create a social connection for t …

There are tons of bigger cities between Austin and San Antonio but not many recourses for our Adult and Child Asperger friends. So Since I am smack dab in the middle, why not start an Aspergers support system. This is a start to branching off in more specific needs groups, play dates, meeting others that are closer. You should join if 1. You are diagnosed with Aspergers - any spectrum, 2. You are a Mother/Father/Aunt/Uncle/Sister etc.... of an Aspergers child. 3. You are neither but would like …

Looking for kids, aged 6-10, with Aspergers/high functioning autism, who are looking for friends to play with. That's all. No mommies all getting together to knit, or drink pink wine. Just play dates, with other kids, who are as special as my kid. It's all about the kids.

We are a group of Austin parents, professionals and families who want to know more about how vision works, as our technology increases, what is the cost to our eyesight? Driving, studying, concentrating and learning are all intimately connected to vision. Some of us have experience improving our vision through vision therapy and others have an interest in how cognition and IQ are related. Our goal is to share our stories, experiences and how we can help each other "see" a brighter future for our …
